
Dhaka : BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital, has been taken to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) from the cabin on Monday.
Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP’s media cell, gave this information to the reporters citing Chairperson’s personal physician A ZM Zahid Hossain.
78-year-old Khaleda Zia has been suffering from arthritis, diabetes, kidney, liver and heart diseases for a long time.
Khaleda Zia, convicted in two cases of corruption, was imprisoned on February 8, 2018. The former prime minister was imprisoned for more than two years.
On March 25, 2020, the government suspended the sentence of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, convicted in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust corruption cases, and released her on condition.
Since then, the government has been extending her release period by suspending her sentence for six months.
