Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Monday asked the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate further the case filed against Prothom Alo reporter Rozina Islam under the Official Secrets Act.

Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain passed the order, asking PBI to submit its probe report on February 28, reports BSS.

The court came up with the order as the complainant of the case, Shabbir Ahmed Osmani, submitted a no-confidence petition against the final report filed by the investigation agency detective branch (DB) of the police.

DB, on July 4, 2022, filed the final report in the case, pleading to relieve Rozina of the charges. The investigation officer, in his report, said the allegations brought against the accused were found to be false.
